This week's learning resources were informative in helping me have a better understanding of problem-solving. Problem-solving has many parts to it. It doesn't just include the mind. The article that stuck out the most to me was Why Good Leaders Make Bad Decisions. When solving problems or making decisions, your heart plays a significant part in the process. We all know our heart is filled with all types of feeling and emotions. When you allow feelings and emotions to guide your decisions or problem solving, it can be detrimental to making the right decisions or choices. Next, the article talks bout not basing anything on past experience. What went wrong during that time might not happen this go-round. If you have a personal interest in something that needs to have a decision made about it, you should look past your own opinion and look at the picture as a whole. You might end up shutting something down that could be good, but you can't see past that based on your interest or opinion. Making sure you have some knowledge would help with problem-solving and decision-making. Going in something blindly can have a bad outcome or, even worse, not solve the problem. Lastly, being open-minded and being open to taking other people's ideas and input.
